For the past few years, a very active group of citizens have been working tirelessly to restore the historic lighthouse on the southern tip of South Fox Island. Come and hear the inspiring tales of adventure and hard work that Catherine Allchin, Vice President of the South Fox Island Lighthouse Restoration Association, will share with us.

Summinar: Civil War Era Photographic Studio Discovered in Kentucky

Dr. Stephen McBride, Director of Archaeology at Camp Nelson, Kentucky, recently excavated the photographic studio of a Civil War era photographer at Camp Nelson near Lexington, KY. Excavation revealed the structure of the studio, as well as artifacts for the shooting, developing and mounting of photos during the earliest years of photography.
